Perry Consolidated School

Perry Consolidated School was built in 1925 at 1100 Main Street in Perry for $85,000. The school was open to any student in the county. Many students came to live with relatives or board in Perry in order to attend this school. Other families began transportation pools. This facility had many uses from 1925-1994: consolidated school, high school, junior high school, elementary school (4th and 5th grades from Perry Elementary), adult education classes, and Media Services office. Then this facility was renovated in 1995 to become the central office complex for the Houston County Board of Education. The auditorium remained the same, and a museum for a 1925 school classroom and Sam Nunn Exhibit was added.
