The Houston County School District (HCSD) is committed to making information on this site accessible for all individuals regardless of visual, hearing, or cognitive disabilities and strives to ensure its accessibility as new technologies and opportunities emerge. This site is designed and developed in accordance with the internationally recognized Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 as well as Section 508 Federal Standards. This includes utilizing best practices of organizing the HTML code to allow for assistive readers/browsers, providing text-based navigation schemes, providing alternative text for images, and using individual titles & headers for all web pages. This site also uses third-party software to audit accessibility in near real-time to insure compliance.

In order to improve viewing some of these files, readers may wish to open the document and use the text conversion option available from the File menu. By exercising this option for viewing PDF files may be read with a screen reader. Keyboard Navigation
Industry standard keyboard interactions are used throughout this site. Keyboard navigation patterns differ between browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome), but the interactions within any particular browser are common and consistent.
