Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) - Certificate Program
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) technical certificate program prepares students to provide immediate lifesaving care as first responders at the scene of medical emergencies. Students learn to assess patients, provide basic emergency medical care, stabilize individuals until advanced medical personnel arrive, and support emergency medical services in a variety of emergency situations.
Successful completion and passing with C or higher provides the student with a Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) from Central Georgia Technical College. This pathway can be completed in one year. Students can also obtain CPR/First Aid with the American Heart Association training, as well as a certificate for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
