Dr. Steven Hornyak serves as
Chief Innovation Officer for the Houston County School District, where he leads
the vision behind the Academy of Innovation, a program designed for students
who learn best by doing. He champions hands-on, experiential learning powered
by emerging tech, real-world problem solving, and student-centered design,
creating space for learners to build, create, and apply their skills in ways
traditional classrooms often cannot.
Jake Harvey, Lead Teacher
Mr. Jacob Harvey serves as Lead
Teacher for the Academy of Innovation, bringing more than 15 years of classroom
experience to a program built around learning by doing. Most recently a
computer science teacher at Mossy Creek Middle School, he pairs deep technical
knowledge with a gift for meeting students where they are and helping them
discover what they can build. At the Academy, he guides learners through
hands-on, real-world challenges, turning curiosity into the kind of creating,
problem solving, and confidence that follows students well beyond the
classroom.
