Events at Lindsey

Fall 2025 Programs

  • FULL REGISTRATION Sewing Classes (Grades 4-12) - September 4, 11, 18, 25 from 4:00pm-5:30pm. Learn sewing skills and make simple crafts.
  • Graphite Realism Drawing (Grades 6-12) - October 2, 16, 23, 30 from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Learn how to create graphite realism drawings.
  • Cooking Class (Grades 4-12) - October 13, 20, 27 from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Aspiring junior chefs can join Emory Healthcare to learn skills and recipes.
  • 4H Wacky Science (Grades 4-12) - November 6, 13, 20 from 4:30pm-5:30pm. Students will explore STEM content in this fun engaging class.

  • What's Your 'E' Event Series: Enlistment Event September 24 from 5:30pm-7:00pm, Enrollment Event November 19 from 5:30pm-7:00pm, Engagement Event February 25 from 5:30pm-7:00pm, Employment Event April 29 from 5:30pm-7:00pm. High school students can can explore their options for when they graduate high school.

  • Community Garden: 9/18, 10/2, 10/16, 11/6, 11/20, 12/4, 12/11, 3/12, 3/26, 4/9, 4/23, 5/7, 5/14 from 4:30pm-5:30pm. Join us for horticulture therapy. 
    • Understanding the IEP: September 3 & 6 from 10:00am-11:00am @ the LSSC. September 11 from 10:00am-11:00 @ the Perry ANNEX. Join Parent Mentor for an informative session on understanding the Individual Education Plan (IEP). Take this opportunity to build your IEP binder.
    • NOW COMP Waiver Application Assistance: October 16 and November 8 from 10:00am-11:00am @ the LSSC, October 22 from 10:00am-11:00am @ the Perry ANNEX. If you need assistance on NOW and COMP waivers join Parent Mentor, Marina Jones for an informative session on the importance of these waivers.
    • Parenting the Challenging Child: October 16 and December 4 from 9:00am-3:00pm @ the LSSC. Learn to effectively manage family conflicts as opportunities to form ore positive relationships.
    • Middle Georgia GLRS Transition Fair: December 11 from 10:00am-1:00pm @ the LSSC. Students with disabilities and their families can learn resources for transitioning from school into the community.

    • Clinic Meet & Greet Information Session: September 9 from 5:30pm-7:00pm. Learn about our low cost/free clinic. Meet the DPH staff and get pre-registered for future appointments.
    • Resource Room: Our center provides clothing, household goods and hygiene products for families in needs.  It is open to the public from 12:00-5:00pm on the last Tuesday of every month: Aug 26, Sept 30, Oct 28, Nov 18, Dec 16, Jan 27, Feb 24, Mar 24, Apr 28, May 26, Jun 30, Jul 24.
    • Food Pantry: Open Tuesday OR Thursday from 12:00-5:00pm. Prepared food bags are available (one per family, one per week).
    • LSSC Clinic: The LSSC: is partnering with the Houston County Health Department to offer free to low cost medical appointments. Nurses are on-site to provide basic care. We can treat the following: mild/moderate conditions, high blood pressure, screenings, diabetes, vaccines, physicals....and more!
