Meet Dr. Richard Rogers

Dr. Richard Rogers, Superintendent of Schools

 

Dr. Richard Rogers began his tenure as the Superintendent of Schools for Houston County in 2025. Prior to becoming Superintendent, Dr. Rogers served as Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent for School Operations, Director of Human Resources, Principal, Assistant Principal, and Teacher for the Houston County School District. 

He earned a doctorate degree in Leadership from Valdosta State University and a specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University. In addition, Dr. Rogers earned a master's and bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education from the University of West Georgia. 

Dr. Rogers married Alicia Rogers in 1999, and they have one daughter who graduated from the school district and another daughter currently in high school. Alicia is a speech language pathologist with the school district. 

In his free time, Dr. Rogers likes to swim, read, watch the Georgia Bulldogs, and travel with his family.
