Our mission is to ensure a viable 21st Century workforce for Houston County.

Our vision is to become the premier model in the state of Georgia by offering a seamless pipeline of workers to high-demand careers in strategically identified industries.

  • HCCA is a vocational high school with academic classes that are all computerized (NovaNet) with a seat time waiver.

  • 1973-1986: Houston Vocational School (HCSD)
  • 1987-1998: Middle Georgia Technical Institute (State)
  • 1999-2010: Houston County Career & Technology Center (HCSD)
  • 2010-Current: Houston College and Career Academy (HCSD)
    • The Houston County Board of Education renamed the school to the Houston College & Career Academy in March 2023.  From 2010 to 2023, the school was named the Houston County Career Academy.
