Interactive Bus Routing Information
WEBQUERY -Utilizing the internet allows the public to enter an address and view a school zone map for that address along with the 2 closest bus stops. This includes the bus number, a printable map of the stops and the times for pickup and drop off at these stops. Please ensure that your child is at the stops 10 minutes prior to the time listed to account for time variances due to traffic, weather, etc.
School bus safety is a reality when everyone involved takes an active role in educating themselves and our students. Teachers, parents, administrators, transportation personnel, and roadside companions all play an important part in keeping our children safe while on or around the school bus.
Please take the opportunity to browse the School Bus Safety section of our web site. And remember...practicing what we learn is the key to keeping our children safe.
Eligibility for Transportation:
Under regular operating conditions, only bona fide students of the Houston County School System are eligible for school bus transportation. School bus drivers will deny admittance onto the school bus of any individual who does not have prior approval of the Superintendent of Schools or a delegate.
Each student eligible for school bus transportation shall be assigned to a particular bus route and shall ride the bus assigned to that route unless otherwise approved by the Houston County Board of Education.
Students riding buses shall live a minimum of one and one-half miles from the school they attend; however, under certain conditions the Board may make an exception to this rule (children with various disabilities, etc.). All exceptions are handled on merits of the individual case. Students who are attending schools outside of their zones of residence are denied school bus transportation.
The Houston County School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, genetics, disability, or sex in its employment practices, student programs and dealings with the public. It is the policy of the Board of Education to comply fully with the requirements of Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act and all accompanying regulations.
