 AP_StudentsStudents Honored for High Achievement on AP Exams
During the March Board of Education meeting, 45 juniors and seniors were recognized for earning the highest score possible on Advanced Placement (AP) exams.  AP is an international program of college-level courses and exams for secondary students.  Students who score high enough on AP exams may earn college credit while still in high school.

Lewis Named Georgia Dual Enrollment Instructor of the Year
Linda Lewis, a Middle Georgia Technical College and Houston County Career Academy joint enrollment teacher, has been named the Dual Enrollment Instructor of the Year for the state of Georgia.  Lewis teaches cosmetology for both schools.  She was chosen for this award by the Technical College System of Georgia.  Lewis teaches cosmetology at both the career academy and technical college.  She is pictured with her award along with (from left):  Jolie Martin, Middle Georgia Technical College (MGTC) Cosmetology Program Chair; Sabrina Phelps, Houston County Career Academy Principal; and Kinberly Gunn, MGTC High School Initiative Coordinator.  


 BMS_Pageant_Winner_Presents_CheckBMS Pageant Raises $4,000 for Charity
Bonaire Middle School held its annual Benefit Pageant, sponsored by the Bonaire Middle, Jr. Beta Club.  The 2012 Bonaire Middle School Queen is Emily Bodony.  Pageant proceeds are donated to an organization or charity in the community. This year's pageant generated $4,000 which was donated to Wesley Glen Ministries of Macon.
