What is Google Classroom? 

Google Classroom is a digital learning platform, which teachers use to interact with their students online.  Beginning April 6, 2020, parents are asked to ensure that their K-12 student(s) log on to Google Classroom for instruction, assignments and tests from their teacher(s).  Teachers use this tool to create classes, distribute assignments, send feedback, and see everything in one place.  More information may be found here

 

What type of device may be used to access Google Classroom? 

To access Google Classroom, students may use any device that can access the internet.  For example, they may connect to Google Classroom with a cell phone, iPod, iPad, Xbox, PlayStation, desktop computers, and Mac computers. 

 

How does a student access Google Classroom? 

Students will need to use their school username and password and sign in through the district’s Single-Sign-On Portal.  Please see the video at the bottom of the page for instructions to access Google Classroom.  Here are instructions to access Google Classroom.  

1. At the top of this page, click on SSO Portal in the navigation menu.  You may also click here to open the SSO portal.

2. Login with your school username and password. 

3. Click on the Google Classroom app. 

 

What if a student does not know their username or password? 

For username or password assistance, students in grades K-8 should contact their homeroom teacher.  High school students should contact their advisement teacher. 

 

How may a student use Google Classroom on an Android mobile device? 

To use Classroom on your Android device, download the Classroom app from Google Play by clicking here or follow the instructions below. 

1. On your device, tap Google Play Store. 

2. Find and install the Google Classroom app. 

 

Can a student use Google Classroom on an Apple (iOS) mobile device? 

To use Classroom on your iPhone® or iPad®, download the Classroom app from the App Store by clicking here or following the instructions below. 

1. On your device, tap App Store. 

2. Find and install the Google Classroom app. 

 

Do I need any other apps on my mobile device to use Google Classroom?

To use all the features of the Classroom app, you need Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.  If they aren't already on your device, you can get them from the Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS). Alternatively, if you are on your mobile device, you can use the links provided below.
