Welcome to the Media Center

The media center at Westside Elementary School is staffed by Mrs. Marilyn Mashburn, media specialist. The media center is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3:30 pm. There is a wide variety of books available for students to check out.

The media center sponsors several special events during the year. These events include book fairs, Children's Book Week, Dr. Seuss's birthday celebration, voting for the school's favorite Georgia Book Award book, and National Library Week.

The media center is also the focus of our Accelerated Reader program. This program encourages students to read by awarding points for correctly answering questions about the books they have read. The points can then be spent at the Accelerated Reader store which is held periodically.
