Mr. Evan Thomas

Evan Thomas has been Director of Bands at Warner Robins Middle School in Warner Robins, Georgia for the last six years of his nine year career. A native of Stone Mountain, Georgia he received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia in 1998. Upon graduation, he received a graduate assistant position from Columbus State University and went on to complete his Master of Music Education degree in 2000. While at CSU he was a member of the Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Brass Quintet, Dixieland Band and the Civic Chorale. He also served as the principal tubist with the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra from 1997-1999.

While at Warner Robins Middle School, his bands have received Superior and Excellent ratings at GMEA concert festivals. He has created small ensembles such as the jazz ensemble and percussion ensemble to supplement students� music education. He served as chair and organized the Large Group Performance Evaluation for District XI from 2003-2005.

Professional affiliations include Music Educators National Conference, Georgia Music Educators Association, National Band Association, Professional Association of Georgia Educators, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (National Music Fraternity) and Pi Kappa Lambda (National Music Honor Society).
