Dr. Lionel Brown graduated from Perry High School in 1989. He received an Associate degree in Psychology from Macon State College, a Bachelor and Masters Degree in History and an Administration and Supervision Add-on from Georgia College and State University.  Most recently, he completed his Doctorate in Ed. Leadership at Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Brown's educational experience includes:
Principal, Veterans High School, Present
Assistant Principal, Perry High School, 2005-2010
Social Studies Teacher/Coach, Warner Robins High School, 1994-2005

He was selected as the Teacher of the Year for Warner Robins High School in 2000.Mr. Brown is married to Mrs. Danielle Brown and they have two wonderful children, Ariel and Jordan.

Amy Barbour

Amy Barbour received her bachelor's degree in English with secondary education certification from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She then began teaching ninth grade at South Johnston High School in North Carolina in 1996. Having taught all levels and content areas of high school English in North Carolina and Alaska, Mrs. Barbour came to Houston County in 2004, teaching at Houston County High School.

After serving as English Department Chair for two years, Mrs. Barbour served as an Assistant Principal at Houston County High School before coming to Veterans High School as the Assistant Principal for Instruction.  Mrs. Barbour holds a master's degree and a specialist degree in School Administration and Leadership from Georgia College and State University. She and her husband Stephen have two children, Hannah Grace and Landon.

Chris Brown

Mr. Brown graduated from Perry High School in 2000. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Georgia Southwestern State University. He received his master and specialist degrees in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University.

Mr. Brown’s educational experience includes teaching Physical Education at Tucker Elementary and coaching football and baseball at Perry High School for six years.  He and his wife Christina are expecting their first child in the fall.

Sherry Johnson

Sherry Johnson received her bachelor's degree in Business and Office Education from the University of West Alabama.  She then began teaching middle school Keyboarding and Career Awareness at Jackson Middle School in Jackson, South Carolina in 1990. In 1993, she moved to Georgia and started teaching Exploratory Keyboarding at Dooly County Middle School, where she taught for seven years and coached middle and high school cheerleaders.  

For the past eleven years she has taught Business Education at Perry High School, where she served as Lead FBLA Adviser and department chair.  During her years at Perry High she served as region FBLA adviser to several region officers, State FBLA Adviser to four state officers, including the 2007-2008 State FBLA President, as well as adviser to region, state, and national winners.  She also served as the 2010-2011 Perry High Teacher of the Year, 2010 Georgia Business Education Association Teacher of the Year, and 2011 Southern Business Education Association Secondary Teacher of the Year. 

Mrs. Johnson holds a master's degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia College and State University and a specialist degree in School Administration and Leadership from Columbus State University. She and her husband Jack have two children, Trevor and Jaylon.
