Principal

Dear Tucker family,

WELCOME to Tucker Elementary School!  Our theme for the 2011-2012 school year focuses on “STUDENT LEADERSHIP”.  Our focus on STUDENT LEADERSHIP will strive to create “WIN-WIN” situations for our students as we emphasize the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in our daily work and play. It is an honor and privilege to work with your child and our community.  This begins my tenth year as the principal of Tucker Elementary School.  Working with the students, staff, and families at Tucker Elementary School is an awesome job!

We want to provide you with access to your child’s teacher as often as needed.  Feel free to email, call, or set up a conference at any time during the school year.  This year, each teacher has his/her own phone extension number.  You can contact your child’s teacher directly by dialing 988-6278, pressing 1, and then entering the teacher’s 5 digit phone extension.  This allows you to leave a voice message that will be sent directly to the teacher.  Each teacher will make this available  to you.

Another way you can stay involved in your child’s education is by checking the school agenda each night and spending time discussing the school day.  We also send home student folders on Thursday of each week beginning August 26.  Agendas and weekly folders will help you stay informed. Thanks for helping us to make 2011-2012 a year of STUDENT LEADERSHIP and learning!  I believe Tucker families truly care about our school and our success.  I look forward to spending time with your child and your family during 2011-2012.

With joy,

Dr. Kim Halstead
