Welcome to “The Greatest School in the Universe”!

Russell Elementary School has been producing outstanding young students in Houston County since 1971. We have a wonderful tradition of school excellence as a result of the hard work of many people. Our students, parents, teachers, and staff continue to dedicate themselves to our school and especially the children.
Russell Elementary has a positive learning atmosphere and academics are stressed above all else. However, we offer many programs outside the classroom and encourage students, who are interested, to become involved in these. Our goal is to provide students with a healthy educational environment during their time at Russell.
Respect is an underlying factor in all aspects of the school. Students are encouraged to respect themselves, their peers, their teachers, the building, and their community. While respect goes well beyond this, it is an essential component in the development of young adults. Keep in mind - students who make a solid effort, who are cooperative, and who work with their teachers, enjoy school and find it to be an exciting and worthwhile experience.

Communication between school and home is essential. Please fell free to contact our school at any time. Make sure that you keep you child’s teacher informed of any concerns that you have and give him or her an opportunity to help you help your child. By working together, teachers and parents can effectively impact each student's experience at Russell Elementary.
Yours in Education,
Keith
