Welcome to Quail Run Elementary School, where all students Believe, Achieve, and Succeed! My name is Cheryl Thomas and I am honored to serve our students, staff, parents, and community as the principal/learning leader of this wonderful school.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Cortland, in Cortland, NY. I received my Masters degree from Georgia Southwestern as a Reading Specialist, and additionally I received both my Specialist and Doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership from Argosy University located in Sarasota, Florida.

I grew up on a dairy farm in Brockport, NY which is located in upstate New York. I was a flight attendant for American Airlines for three years after graduating from undergraduate school. After flying with American Airlines for three years, I then went on to teach kindergarten and third grade at Miller Elementary School, and then 2nd grade at Eagle Springs Elementary School.

I am married to Ronnie Thomas who is an Ag teacher at Houston County High School. We have two beautiful children, Grace who is 9 and Ronnie who 6. Grace and Ronnie are both proud Quail Run cubs in 4th and 1st grade this year. I enjoy spending as much time with my family as possible, reading, gardening, traveling, and attending FFA cow shows and activities to support the Houston County FFA.

I look forward to meeting the needs of all students in our building on a daily basis, continuing the tradition of excellence, and achieving our ultimate vision of leading the state in Platinum level status.

Counselor
Mrs. Rochelle Smith

Hello! I am excited to serve the students and families at Quail Run Elementary!

Warner Robins is definitely considered home for me because I have spent the majority of my life here. I graduated from Northside High School and then received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Liberty University. I was employed by HODAC for five years as a Student Assistance Counselor and worked with the school system helping students at the alternative schools. I completed my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Georgia State University. I have been an elementary school counselor for 11 years. This is my third year at Quail Run Elementary.

My goal as a counselor at Quail Run is to help remove barriers that keep students from being successful at school and in life. I want to help children believe in themselves and give them skills to overcome difficult situations. I want to help them become responsible individuals that make successes out of mistakes. I also want students to know that it is okay to ask for help and support when needed. I believe all students can learn but not all children are the same. So we have to teach children differently based on their needs and skills. I also feel it is my responsibility to help create a safe and caring environment for students to learn in. The counseling programs key word for this year is empathy. I want to teach students how to relate to each other and put themselves in the other persons shoes. I want them to understand the feelings of others and show kindness to each other.

When I am not at school I am with my beautiful family. I have been married to Ron Smith for 18 years and we have two handsome boys. Lawson is 8 years old and Drew is 6 years old. Both are students at Quail Run Elementary. We spend our weekends playing Upward sports activities.

If I can help your family during difficult times or with difficult situations, feel free to contact me by phone or email. My door is always open to offer a helping hand.
