The Perry Middle School Media Center strives to select appropriate materials to support the curriculum and meet the needs of students. Information retrieval skills are integrated with the curriculum content. State standards and local guidelines are adhered to in achieving Media needs and goals. The media staff plans cooperatively with the faculty and staff in achieving media goals. The media staff works continually to stay current on materials and technology for the maximum utilization of the Media Center.
The Perry Middle School Media Center consists of over 16,000 items including books, magazines, audiotapes, videos, laser discs, CD-ROMs and other materials. The Media Center is fully automated through the system of Surpass. Students, faculty and guests have access to Microsoft Office products, Print Shop, research software and the Internet through 11 computer workstations. The Media Center's growing selection of AR books and reading incentives support the school-wide program. Our AR test list is searchable by author, title and book level. |
