She was an honor graduate of Northside High School, Class of 1979. She attended the University of Georgia and graduated cum laude, Class of 1983, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism along with a minor in History and Political Science. She received her teacher certification from Mercer University in 1996. Mrs. Anderson is married to Kelly Anderson and has two children: Emily, 21, and Patrick, 16. Her hobbies include travel, reading, and anything to do with History. Her two favorite places to visit are the Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina and London, England.
