She earned her Bachelor's degree from Albany State University. While attending ASU she participated in athletics for the Rams. In addition, she was president of her Freshman, Sophomore and Senior classes. She completed her Masters in Education at Columbus University and is presently attending graduate school to obtain her Doctorate's degree in Education. Ms. Gilmore is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She brings a wealth of knowledge and hands on experience from the Corporate sector where she worked in mid and upper management positions prior to pursuing a career in Education. Her areas of concentration were Banking/Finance and Healthcare. She's very active in the Performing Arts and Athletics and is honored to be able to share her knowledge and experience with her students. Outside of the classroom she coaches PHS's step team "GIFTED" (Graciously and Individually Fitted Together to educate and promote Excellence and Dedication). The squad consists of male and female students who are actively involved in academic achievement and student development at Perry High School. Over the years she has coached Lady Panthers Basketball and Track/Field. She's also the Coordinator for the annual Black History Program at Perry High School. In addition, she serves as a mentor to at-risk youth. She's also a motivational speaker and places an emphasis on uplifting and motivating her students via creative and innovative methods of teaching. Her style has proven to be both interesting and effective and she's excited about the changes that she's implementing for the 08-09 school year.
