The Factory

Making a difference...One student at a time!!!

My classroom is affectionately known as "Gilmore's Math Factory". The place where you don't leave out the way that you came in.

This philosophy is one that I've adopted and taken to heart for I believe that the students are the most important ingredient to a system's success. I further believe that I set my students up for success by setting realistic expectations for them. I have found that this task is a difficult one if I try and group everyone in the same pot.

I cherish the differences among my students and I continue to learn from them for they all bring something unique to the factory. Therefore, it is incumbent upon me to try and discern which style of learning is best suited for the individual. Therefore, I am a proponent of Differentiated Instruction and thus try to address all learning styles in my classroom.

This is done by incorporating the use of the SmartBoard, PowerPoint Presentations, the Classroom Performance System (CPS) and music. By doing this I've found that my lesson plans tend to address the Visual, Hands-on and Auditory learners at the same time.

It is my sincere desire to use my own passion for Math to ignite the passion inside of my students.
