Perry High School Honors Award

Administered by the Perry Community Foundation, Inc.



*Established by alumni and friends of Perry High School in January, 2000
*Maintained by the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce
*Used as a vehicle to promote and encourage educational achievement in the Perry area
*Promoted through class reunions, news media, civic organizations, and personal contact

Administration of the Program

*The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce shall receive and invest funds at the greatest return to provide funds for the awards.
*The Chamber of Commerce shall see that funds are invested and a check made annually to the high school principal to fund the awards.
*An account shall be established at Edward D. Jones, Perry, GA, namely: Perry *Area Chamber of Commerce Perry High School Honor Awards.
*Adequate records of stock transfers, other receipts, and disbursements shall be kept. Reports shall be made to the Chamber of Commerce.

Purpose

*To encourage Perry High School students toward superior educational attainment.
*To recognize outstanding academic achievement by students of Perry High School.
*To make appropriate awards for these achievements to recipients on Honors Day.

Awards to be Funded

1st Year Honors - students with one year cumulative average of 90+

*medal
*framed honors certificate

2nd Year Honors - students with two years cumulative average of 90+

*framed honors certificate
*academic letter with l bar or a pin to be placed on a previously earned letter and a patch

3rd Year Honors - students with three years cumulative average of 90+

*framed honors certificate
*academic jacket or blanket
*bar for letter
*No student may receive a jacket if he/she has received one for participation in an activity at Perry High School. A student may choose an appropriate patch for the jacket in lieu of a blanket.

4th Year Honors - students with four years cumulative average of 90+

*Panther Pride plaque with all awards, activities, etc.
*A book scholarship to be presented on Senior Honors Day
*Bar for letter
*The National Honor Society teacher committee will determine the dollar value of the book scholarship annually.
