| One elective required of all students may be selected from courses in fine arts. For students working toward diplomas with distinction, two additional elective units are required for College Preparatory (CP) programs and one additional elective unit is required for Technology/Career-Preparatory (T/C) programs. These electives may be chosen from fine arts. |

¡Hola! Kayren Oliver has been teaching at PHS for ten years. She graduated from Central High School in Macon, GA and then attended college at Valdosta State University. She is still a huge Valdosta State Blazer fan! While at VSU she majored in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Spanish. She continued her education at Fort Valley State University and earned a Master's Degree in School Counseling and Guidance. She has taught Spanish I, Spanish II, and Spanish III while at PHS.

Melissa received an Associate of Arts degree from Gordon College, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Montevallo, and a Master of Education degree at the University of Montevallo.

Mr. Joe Sendek is in his fifth year as Perry High's Theatre Instructor. Mr. Sendek also taught 9th grade College Prep and Pre AP English. He has an Associates degree in Theatre from Gordon College, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting and Directing from the University of Montevallo and a Master's Degree in Education from UM. Mr. Sendek is currently working on his doctorate degree in Education Leadership and Administration from Argosy University in Sarasota. Mr. Sendek is the One Act Play and Spring Musical director and the sponsor for the PHS Thespians. Mr. Sendek is also responsible for the Miss PHS pageant and works with the PHS Literary team in dramatic interpretation. He is married to Melissa Sendek, a Spanish teacher at Perry High, and together they have a son named Jacob. |

Cathy Heller is the art teacher at Perry High. She has taught art for 7 years in Houston County and 2 years in Ben Hill County. Cathy graduated from Peach County High School in Fort Valley, GA and then attended the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, GA. Cathy received her Bachelor of Education in Art Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah and her Master of Education in Art Education from Valdosta State University. |
