There is no question that Dr. Elgin Mayfield believes this quote. He works diligently to guarantee that the physical, social, emotional, and educational needs of our students are cared for daily. Before coming to Perry Primary in July of 2007 Mr. Mayfield served as the Assistant Principal of Instruction at Parkwood Elementary in Warner Robins. Prior to beginning his career in administration Mr. Mayfield taught at Rumble Middle and Northside High. He has been with the Houston County School System for more than fifteen years, and looks forward to continuing to work with the teachers, students, parents, and staff of Perry Primary.

Dr. Mayfield recently earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership from Valdosta State University in July of 2011. He earned his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State in 2004 and his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Valdosta State in 1995. His wife, Pamela, is a Speech Pathologist for the Houston County School System, and he has two beautiful daughters, Abigail and Caroline.

My name is Debora Russell. I am the Assistant Principal for Instruction at Perry Primary School. My job is to guide and support instruction in order for all students to learn.
I make sure teachers have the necessary materials/supplies they need and provide professional learning opportunities that will ensure quality teaching.
Learning is valued here and we guard our instructional time at Perry Primary School.
A consistent learning environment is provided daily.
Our team works hard at Perry Primary School and gives every child the very best!

Assistant Principal

Mr. Andy Payne

Mr. Payne is a product of the Houston County school system working his way through Parkwood Elementary, Northside Junior High, and Northside High School. He is entering his 13^th year as an educator and is happy to be working in the best school system in the state of Georgia. He graduated in 1999 from Mercer University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, completed a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Mercer University in 2007, and is currently working on his PhD in Educational Leadership from Mercer University. When he is not working on his leadership degree, Mr. Payne loves to spend time with his beautiful wife Heather and their precious niece Mya. He also loves to sing, act, and spend time with friends and family. Mr. Payne believes every child has the ability to be successful in school and is going to do everything he can to help make sure the students at Perry Primary are given the opportunity to reach their potential. He understands how important learning is and wants to help instill the love of learning in each child in our school. Failure is not an option to Mr. Payne and he will not let it be an option for the students at Perry Primary either!
