Connecting VCR

VCR Connections

Connections from VCR
Make certain to connect cord to OUT.
Match the color scheme: Yellow for video
Red and White for Audio.
If there is not a white and red connection, then the VCR has mono-output and you can choose which one to connect. Make sure that the same one (red or white) is connected at both the TV and the VCR.

Connecting to Television

Connect a/v cords to the connections at the front of the TV. Follow the color scheme, plugging the yellow into yellow for video. Plug the white into white and the red into red for the audio connection.
If there is not a white and red connection, then the VCR has mono-output and you can choose which one to connect. Make sure that the same one (red or white) is connected at both the TV and the VCR.
Use the TV remote to choose AUX and then channel DOWN one time to view the video or DVD.

There are two red plugs on the back of the DVD player. Do not use the component video plugs (green, blue, and red). Instead, be sure to use the plugs marked AUDIO - left (white) and right (red).

Connecting to Projector from DVD or VCR
As with all output devices, make certain to connect according to the following color scheme: yellow to yellow (video), red to red (audio), and white to white (audio).
If the projector uses a mini 1/8" plug for the audio input, see a Media Specialist for an adaptor.

Ceiling-Mounted Projectors

Connecting DVD or VCR to Ceiling-Mounted Projectors
If you have a ceiling-mounted projector in your classroom, you should have a/v cords coming down from your ceiling near your computer station. One is larger and is for video output for the player (DVD or VHS). The other two cords are connected to one another and are the left and right audio connections. You will need to disconnect (and not use) the cords that come with the player from the Media Center. (But don't forget to reconnect them when you return the player to the Media Center!) Refer to pictures and instructions above for connecting the cords to the player. If you do not have these cords coming from your ceiling and you would like to utilize the projector for viewing, please ask for assistance from a Media Specialist.

Cleaning Projector Filter

In order to clean the filter on your projector, you will need a ladder. The Media Center has a ladder that can be utilized for this task. Once you locate the filter and remove it, you can either spray the dust off with an air can, vacuum it with a small vacuum cleaner, or simply tap the filter on the side of a trash can. Your projector may need to be reset if it has provided a reminder to clean the filter. You will access this reset through the menu function on the projector.

Keyspan Presentation Remote Troubleshooting
The Keyspan Remote mouse is pretty much plug and play; however, there may be some troubleshooting needed. Follow the link listed above if you have any issues with your wireless mouse. For example, a common problem that occurs is interference with neighboring classrooms. If you find that your presentation seems to be moving on its own, you may need to see the above help website to resync your remote.
