In the spring of 2004, Northside High School began preparing to open the first totally self contained ninth grade academy in middle Georgia. With the addition of 42 classrooms, a fully functioning cafeteria and a full size gym, Tabor Academy can offer what no other ninth grade setting can. With additional space afforded to Northside High School, Tabor Academy can now locate all freshmen in homogeneous ninth grade classes for their academic classes.
Not only does Tabor offer classroom space for the ninth grade population, but it also boasts a faculty of 24 teachers that are dedicated to making our ninth graders successful. Each teacher at Tabor totally focuses on the academic and social needs of our ninth grade students. This monitoring has made a huge impact on reducing discipline referrals, increasing academic success, and easing the transition from eighth grade into high school.
