Principal's Message


The faculty, staff, and I would like to welcome you to Mossy Creek Middle School! We are excited about the opportunity to serve you and to educate your child. As your child’s principal, I feel that it is important that you get to know me. I am a graduate of Auburn University, where I received my bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Masters in Education, and the University of Georgia where I completed my specialist degree in Leadership. I have twenty-three years of educational experience in Houston County; eight years as a teacher, two years as an assistant principal for instruction, six years as principal at Feagin Mill Middle School before opened Mossy Creek Middle in 2007.

 
Be assured that I am deeply dedicated to the philosophy and core values from the bedrock of Mossy Creek. We are a community school that provides a rigorous academic education through a standards-based approach while working to develop good character in our students. We are focused on learning through a collaborative culture in which all teachers plan together to provide strategies that differentiate learning for the individual student. We have an open-door policy; parents and community members are encouraged to visit, observe and offer suggestions. Last year, we established a parent association, Parents that Love Gators, that works diligently to ensure effective communication between the school and community.    Your child is my first priority! I look forward to working with you, and through your insight, providing every possible opportunity for your child to be successful. Working together we will raise the bar of expectation and challenge our students!
