We are excited to announce that Mossy Creek Middle School is organizing a trip to New York City over spring break. Mrs. Giles and Mr. Gill are inviting all Mossy Creek Middle School students and parents to join them in this adventure. Today, students received an envelope containing information regarding this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Our itinerary includes visiting Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, Wall Street, attending a Broadway Show and more. We will travel together via chartered bus and stay in a hotel located in Times Square. Please join us for a parent information meeting this Thursday night, October 24th at 6:30 in the Media Center to learn more about this exciting educational experience. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Giles at email@example.com or feel free to call the school and leave her a message.

MOSSY CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS WIN GOLD AT FCCLA NATIONAL CONFERENCE
Pictured from left to right, rising 7th graders Nikita Shetty, Katie Hampton, and rising 9th grader Bobbie Melden. All 3 Mossy Creek Middle FCCLA Members competed at FCCLA National Conference and STAR Event Competitions July 7-11 in Nashville, TN. accompanied by their advisor Kadie Coker. Nikita and Katie won National Gold medals in the event Chapter Showcase Manual where they made a huge scrapbook with 40 pages displaying 2012-2013 Year in Review of Mossy Creek Middles FCCLA Chapter activities and included a presentation for judges to accompany their award winning book. Bobbie Melden competed in National Programs in Action where she teamed up with AT&T It Can Wait (no texting and driving) Campaign to promote safe driving with her peers, teachers, and parents from MCMS along with Houston County High Schoolers. She asked that each individual sign a pledge to avoid texting and driving along with passing out stickers to be posted somewhere visible in or on their parents vehicle or their own. She too made posters with a dynamic speech to be presented to judges during competition. Ms. Coker and Mossy Creek could not be more proud of these girls and the impact they ave made in their community and school.
