Hello and welcome to Morningside Elementary School.  I am Tami Godman and am thrilled to serve the students, parents, teachers, and community of our school as Assistant Principal of Instruction.  I have been in education for seventeen years and the 2010/2011 school year begins my eighteenth year.  I have taught in Houston County since 1997 at Lindsey Elementary and now am honored to be here at Morningside.

I have been married since 1997 to my husband Scott and have two girls, Kylie and Elizabeth.  I am a graduate of Presbyterian College in South Carolina with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.  After becoming a teacher in 1993, I furthered my education at Georgia College and State University with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood, an add-on certificate in Educational Leadership, and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.  My parents and several aunts are educators, so the importance of learning has always been instilled from childhood as a top priority in my life.

I look forward to assisting in any way possible, and my door is always open.  My hope for each student here at Morningside is to not only learn the necessary state standards in his/her grade but to provide the skills necessary to think and be a lifelong learner.  At Morningside we are committed to academic excellence and want all our children to achieve success.  I look forward to meeting you and am very excited to join the Panther Team.
