Ms. Thomas attended Lindsey Elementary and Tabor Middle School, and graduated from Northside High School in 1990. In 1995, she received a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English from Valdosta State University. Her educational career was postponed while she worked as an automobile salesperson. After spending four years as a full time salesperson, she became an English teacher and a cheerleading coach at Northside High School. However, she continued working in automobile sales part time while teaching and coaching. During her time at Northside High, she earned a Master and Specialist in Education Administration and Supervision from Georgia College and State University. She became Assistant Principal at Lindsey in 2002. Ms. Thomas became principal of Linwood Elementary in 2007.

Miranda Burke is a split assistant principal at Linwood Elementary and Pearl Stephens Elementary. She taught two years in the Crawford County School System prior to coming to Houston County. Mrs. Burke hails from a family of educators. Her father is a college professor and her mother is a teacher in the system.
Mrs. Burke taught three years at Thomas Elementary and five years at Quail Run Elementary before moving into her current position as an assistant principal. Mrs. Burke obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting and a Masters of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Fort Valley State University. Additionally she has a certificate in Supervision and Administration and a Specialist Degree from Troy State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University.

Mrs. Burke enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband Anthony, her son Timothy, and the newest addition to the family, baby daughter Kamryn, and her Yellow Labrador Retriever Chelsea.

Ms. Conner began her teaching career in 1997 with the Houston County School System at David A. Perdue Elementary as a second grade teacher and later became a kindergarten teacher. At Perdue, she was named 2002-2003 Teacher of the Year. In 2003, Ms. Conner helped establish Lake Joy Elementary where she taught kindergarten. She was selected as Linwood’s Assistant Principal for Instruction in 2006.

Ms. Conner holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Southwestern State University, a Master of Education degree from Georgia College and State University, and an Elementary Education Specialist degree from Troy University. She received her Educational Leadership Endorsement in 2005 from Mercer University.

Ms. Conner’s primary job is to work closely with the teachers to ensure that the instructional needs of the students are met. One of Ms. Conner’s favorite quotes is by John Maxwell…"The first step to leadership is servanthood." Ms. Conner is here to serve the students, parents, and teachers in order to make Linwood the best it can be. Ms. Sheila Kendrick is a graduate of Peach County High School. She holds a B.B.A. in Management, an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling, and certification in School Counseling. She has completed all but dissertation (ABD) toward a Ph.D. in Psychology. Ms. Kendrick has worked as a senior counselor for the State of Georgia with children, adolescents, and families, and high school students with special needs. She worked as the Personnel Manager for the Robins AFB School System which consisted of Robins Elementary and Linwood Elementary. She held that position until Linwood was turned over to the Houston County Board of Education. Ms. Kendrick is a veteran, having retired in 2003 from the Air Force Reserve after 20 years of service. For the last 10 years of her military career, she supervised the Family Readiness element, which was responsible for ensuring the well being of the families of activated and or deployed troops. She is honored to be a member of the Linwood Elementary School faculty under the leadership of Ms. Lazunia Thomas. One of her favorite expressions is, “You are a Linwood Leopard.” “You stand tall.” “You stand proud.” “You are leading the way.” She is the proud mother of son Jeremy and daughter Jaris.
