Professionally I am serving in my 7th year as a principal in Houston County. Prior to being appointed principal to Lake Joy Elementary I served as principal at Quail Run Elementary. I have a Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University in Early Childhood Education, a Master's Degree from Georgia Southern in Administrative Leadership, a Specialist Degree from Georgia College and State University in Leadership, and completed my Doctorate Degree from Argosy University in Leadership.
Our goal at Lake Joy is to continue to give each child the best education possible. My goal is to make sure that we provide a safe, non-threatening environment for each of our students. Lake Joy is a place where students can feel comfortable and express their feelings in a child-centered environment that promotes student learning through the support of our teachers and community. Our mission at Lake Joy Elementary is to provide a learning community that assists the whole child in meeting his/her highest potential.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education from Slippery Rock University in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. I also received a Master’s Degree from Georgia College & State University in Educational Leadership. I have been an Educator in the Houston County School System since August of 1992. In Houston County, I have served as a Physical Education teacher at Shirley Hills Elementary School, David A. Perdue Elementary School, and Lake Joy Elementary School.
I believe that Lake Joy Elementary School is a “large” family; however, we do focus on the small details and we have each student’s best interest at heart.

Rose Campbell E-Mail
Welcome to Lion Country! I am Rose Campbell, Assistant Principal of Instruction at Lake Joy Elementary. A proud graduate of Northside High School, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, as well as my Master’s in Education Administration from Georgia College and State University. My Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership was earned from Columbus State University. In 2004, I achieved National Board Certification.
During my 14 years as an educator, I have taught all elementary grade levels. In 1998, I obtained my gifted certification and served gifted and talented students. My Houston County experience includes teaching third grade at Parkwood Elementary before moving to third grade at Lake Joy in 2003. For the 2006-2007 school year, I served as the Math Early Intervention Specialist.
Instilling a love of learning to my teachers, students and their families is my focus. I strongly believe that I have been placed at Lake Joy Elementary to motivate and inspire teachers to implement cutting edge teaching practices in order to produce higher achieving students.
My husband Bill Campbell and I have two wonderful children: Will, age 11, and Kathryn, age 7. I like to travel to new places. The beach, any beach, is my favorite vacation getaway. Reading is a passion of mine and you can often find me relaxing…curled up with a good book.
An idea can turn to dust or magic, depending on the talent that rubs against it. --Bill Bernbach
