John F. Kennedy Essay contest- write an original and creative essay of 1,000 words or less that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage. Awards :1st place winner receives a $5,000 cash award and $5,000 to grow in a John Hancock Freedom 529 College Savings Plan.2nd  place winner receives a $1,000 cash award and up to five finalist each receive a $500 cash award. The nominating teacher of the 1st place winner will receive the John F. Kennedy Public Service grant for $500 to encourage student leadership and civic engagement. All students must register online. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation- awarding 3 million dollars in scholarships to high school seniors who demonstrate leadership, commitment to community, and academic achievement. www.cocoa-colascholars.org  

The G. Wayne Clough Georgia Tech- scholarship program help eligible students graduate from Georgia Tech debt free. Eligible students are legal residents of Georgia, pursuing their first undergraduate degree, eligible for federal student financial aid, dependents whose parents that have less than $33,300 in income and are eligible in file IRS form 1040A or 1040EZ. http://www.promise.gatech.edu/ 

 The John Montgomery Belk Scholarship at Davidson College- recognizes and rewards students of demonstrated superior intellectual and personal achievement and significant leadership ability. Up to 8 Belk scholars will be chosen in Davidson’s class of 2016, each receiving an annually renewable scholarship equivalent to the colleges comprehensive fees (valued in 2011-12 at $49,723). In addition, each scholar receives two special study stipends (up to $3000 per stipend) to pursue international study and other enrichment opportunities. Each high school may only nominate one student. Nominations should be in office no later then Nov.10,2011. nominees must submit a completed admission application no later than Dec. 1, 2011.

Kettering University Freshman Merit Scholarships-students can earn up to $67,500, scholarships awarded based on a combination of ACT and/ or Sat scores, and GPA. Georgia Mining Foundation 2012 Alex Cawthon Four –Year Scholarship- In march 2012, GMF will award a 4 year scholarship, which will pay $1,000 per year for four years. The scholarship awarded for the year 2012 will be given in honor and recognition of a person whose dedication and commitment to the mining industry is virtually unsurpassed: Alex Cawthon. Deadline for the application is February 1, 2012.

Joy Foundation- deadline: February 28, 2012, awarding $600.00 dollars, the joy foundation scholarships will be awarded to a qualified Houston County 2012 graduating senior who plans to further their education at a college or university pursuing studies in the field of dramatic/theatric arts.

Houston Medical Center Auxiliary/ Virginia Wetherington Scholarship- two scholarships will be awarded to a graduating in our school, deadline: April 9,2012, student must plan to pursue a career in health care.

Robins Academic Scholarship Will be awarding $1,000 academic scholarships to deserving high school seniors from eligible RAFB department of defense families, deadline is March 3, 2012.

Armstrong Atlantic State University-http://www.armstrong.edu/Science_and_Technology/step_program/step_welcome , deadline is April 29th, 2012, students selected as STEP scholars would be required to live on campus for 6 weeks from June 17-27, 2011 free of charge (meals not included) and will be paid a stipend of $300 dollars each week.

Student-View Scholarship Programhttp://www.student-view.com/, deadline is April 22nd , 2012, Student –View Scholarship Program is offering $10,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four- year college, community/junior college or career school.

Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College – Complete the admissions application online at www.abac.edu/sm/assets; Fee: $20, ABAC is awarding up to 10 scholarships annually-up to $6,000 dollars to promising science, technology, engineering, and math students.

Warner Robins Civitan  Club Ray Burke Scholarship – there will be two (2) $500.00 scholarships awarded, application must be postmarked on or before April 30th, the scholarship will be paid directly to the student upon verification of acceptance and enrollment from the college or university, students who plan to attend, or a vocational/technical school are eligible for this scholarship.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority- offering 4 different scholarships, requires you to fill out the application and a typed essay, completed application package must be received by March 16, 2012.

The Joseph P. Crawford, CLU Memorial Scholarship was created by the NAIFA – Georgia Board of Directors to provide a scholarship to an undergraduate student who demonstrates exceptional academic performance and could use financial assistance.
