Christie D. Blasingame is the CTAE Lead Teacher and an FBLA Advisor at Houston County High School. She has been teaching for 17 years with 11 of those years being in the Houston County School System. She received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Secondary Business Education from Georgia Southern University; her Masters in Curriculum and Instructions from University of Phoenix online and her Specialist in Education Leadership from Columbus State University. Christie has 2 daughters-Michaela and Kierstin, both who attend Houston County Schools.

Ms. Shayna Brown

Ms. Brown is the Marketing teacher and advisor for DECA, the marketing student organization. She graduated from Warner Robins High School and attended the University of Georgia, earning a B.S. degree in Marketing Education. In addition to teaching, Ms. Brown is the Junior Varsity football/competition cheerleading coach and Homecoming Advisor.

Mrs. Cooper teaches the Early Childhood Education Program, a Family and Consumer Sciences course at HCHS, where we have a part time on-site preschool program called Little Bears Preschool. In addition, Mrs. Cooper is an adviser to HCHS’s outstanding FCCLA chapter that has received many awards such as State Chapter of the Year and first place in the Georgia National Fair FCCLA exhibit competition. A graduate of Central High School in Carrollton, she holds B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in Home Economics Education from Georgia College and State University. Married to her high school sweetheart, she has two children and two grandchildren.

   
Mr. Al Godfrey

Altos Godfrey is responsible for the school’s graphic communications program. Mr. Godfrey is a proud graduate of Georgia Southern University. His background includes production manager for a newspaper chain; working in Capricorn Records public relations department and was instrumental in creating all the secondary graphics programs currently found in the school system. HCHS’s graphics program encompasses a variety of career paths found in the field of communications. Courses include: photography (film & digital), commercial layout, design & advertising. A section on offset lithography printing techniques is also offered. Recently his students produced a video documenting the school’s use of educational technologies. The Intel Corporation was so impressed with their production they currently use it world-wide and recently had it translated into Chinese.

Mrs. Karma G. Hayes is currently the Work-Based Learning teacher and advisor for the National Technical Honor Society. She has been serving Houston County Schools for more than 14 years teaching Business Education courses, coordinating the Cooperative Business Education program and sponsoring the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) student organization. She graduated from Perry High School and attended Georgia Southern University, earning a B.S. degree in Business Education. Later, she received a M. Ed degree in Instructional Technology from Georgia College and State University and an Ed.S. degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University.

Mr. Gary Howard is in his 17th year at Houston County High School. He is one of the founding teachers and was the very first teacher of the year at HCHS. He has taught Industrial Technology (Woodworking) for 22 years in Houston County.  Gary received a bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He and his wife Tammy have two children, Grant and Cole.

Lt Col Jackson (retired) is our Senior Aerospace Science Instructor at HCHS. This is her 2nd year teaching Air Force JROTC. She served 20 plus years in the United Stated Air Force, and retired in 2005. Lt Col Jackson is a graduate of Enterprise High School, Enterprise AL, and received her B.S. in Computer Information Science and an M.S. in Personnel Management from Troy State University. She is married and has two children

Mr. Del Martin teaches Business Education and is a Future Business Leader of America (FBLA) advisor at Houston County High School.  He is a graduate of Valdosta State University, receiving a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing. Prior to education, Del spent over ten years in retail where he was a Department Manager and a Marketing Manager. He is currently working on his Masters of Educational Leadership.  

   

Mr. Tom Seward

Tom Seward is a 1999 graduate of Houston County High School and 2004 Graduate of the University of Georgia. While at Georgia he received his degree in Technology Education. He spent his first three years teaching at Loganville High School where he was the Advisor for the school’s first TSA chapter. He also coached the football and wrestling teams. At Houston County High, Tom is the Advisor for the school’s TSA chapter as well as a coach on the football and track teams.

Mr. Ronnie Thomas

Dr. Thomas grew up in Upstate NY.  He is married to Cheryl Thomas and has two children, Grace and Ronnie III.  He teaches High school Animal Science, Horticulture and Landscaping.  He received his Doctorate from Argosy University and Masters Degree from the Great UGA. He enjoys operating the Houston County High School Farm, sports, family, and having the best yard in the neighborhood.

   
P. Turner

Sgt. Phillip Turner

Master Sergeant Turner grew up in Mountaintop, Pa.  He was awarded a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984. He worked as an instructor and master instructor at the DOD’s weather training facility at Keesler AFB, and was deployed in support of operations Southern Watch (twice), Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.  Sergeant Turner served at several bases within the United States as well as Lakenheath, UK and Wiesbaden, Germany.  This is Sergeant Turner’s first year Houston County High and he is looking forward to new challenges.
