Houston County High School has a strong tradition of excellence in academic and extracurricular achievement perpetuated by a dedicated faculty and staff as well as a supportive parent community. We are committed to building upon the strong foundation already established to ensure that our students succeed beyond their dreams. It is our goal to increase each student's capacity to learn and succeed exponentially. Together, we will reach far beyond the expected.

Amy Barbour received her bachelor's degree in English with secondary education certification from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She then began teaching ninth grade at South Johnston High School in North Carolina in 1996. Having taught all levels and content areas of high school English in North Carolina and Alaska, Amy came to Houston County in 2004, teaching at Houston County High School.
After serving as English Department Chair for two years, Mrs. Barbour joined the administrative team at Houston County High in 2008. Mrs. Barbour holds a master's degree and a specialist degree in School Administration and Leadership from Georgia College and State University. She and her husband Stephen have two children, Hannah Grace and Landon.

Dr. Brian Christensen

With the Houston County School System for 24 years, Dr. Brian Christensen currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Houston County High School. Prior to becoming an administrator, Dr. Christensen taught science, social studies and coached football, baseball, basketball, soccer and track& field at Warner Robins Middle School from 1986 until 1997.
A product of the Box Elder School System in Northern Utah, Dr. Christensen graduated from Bear River High School in 1979 and was awarded a four year scholarship to Utah State University where he was a business major and a four year letterman in football. Dr. Christensen earned a masters degree from Georgia College & State University and a specialist degree from The University of Georgia. In addition, Dr. Christensen completed his dissertation research on freshman academy programs, earning an Ed.D in Educational Leadership from The University of Sarasota in 2004.
Dr. Christensen is married to Patsy (Pratt) Christensen, a former 5th grade teacher at Quail Run Elementary School. They are the proud parents of Cameron Christensen, a 2009 graduate of Houston County High School, and Caitlen Christensen an 8th grade honors student at Feagin Mill Middle School.

Mr. Mortimer Floyd

Mr. Floyd is a native of Warner Robins, and has been an educator for 12 years. He has worked 11 of the 12 years in the Houston County school system. He graduated from Northside High School in 1989 and continued to pursue his education at Savannah State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing in 1994. In 1996, he decided teaching would be the most influential way to help students become productive citizens in society today. He taught sixth to eighth grades in his first year in Griffin, Georgia at RESA Academy alternative school. In 1998, Mr. Floyd returned to Warner Robins and started his second year of teaching at Bert Rumble Middle School as a seventh grade science teacher and coached the first female soccer team. In his second year at Bert Rumble he taught eighth grade science, and he continued to teach and coach for six years.
Mr. Floyd completed his Masters of Science degree in Middle Grades education in 2001 from Fort Valley State University. In 2002, he embarked on another challenge of pursuing a higher degree by attending Columbus State University and receiving a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership in 2003. In 2004, he was promoted to Assistant Principal at Houston County High School and is in his fifth year as an Assistant Principal. Mr. Floyd is currently in his second year at Mercer University, working on his Ph. D in Educational Leadership.
He has been married to his lovely wife Shemeka Floyd for nine years, and they have two lovely daughters. Karrington is 7 years old and is a second grader at Eagle Springs Elementary, and Kailyn is 3 years old and is a student at First Assembly of God Loving Care Daycare.

Ms Andrea Jordan

Andrea A. Jordan has been assistant principal at Houston County High School since Spring Semester, 2004. She graduated from Wrightsville High School and received an Associates Degree from Middle Georgia College. She received Bachelors, Masters and Educational Specialist Degrees from the University of Georgia where she majored in Health, Physical Education, and Educational Leadership.
Ms. Jordan taught at Franklin County High school for one year. She was at Northside Middle School for 33 years where she served as Principal, Ninth Grade Principal, Assistant Principal, and Teacher. She was the Health and Physical Education Department Chairperson and was named Teacher of the Year during her tenure there. Northside Middle had many outstanding accomplishments while Ms. Jordan was principal. Among them were accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, being named a Georgia School of Excellence, winning three county All Sports Championships, being named a High Achieving School by the Georgia Department of Education, having the Academic Team win the State PAGE Bowl Competition, and having teams excel at world competition in Odyssey of the Mind.
Ms. Jordan brought several innovative programs to Northside Middle including the Macon State College Early Intervention Program, Project YES (You + Education = Success), a citizenship program that reduced discipline referrals, the SRA reading program, the Georgia Reading Challenge Grant, and a grant from the Houston Drug Action Council.
Ms. Jordan is married to Dr. Douglas L. Jordan. He is a professor at Macon State College.

Dr. Todd Pryby

Dr. Todd Pryby has been an assistant principal and CTAE supervisor for Houston County High School since July 2004. Previously he taught physical and life science courses while part of the science department at Houston County High School.
Dr. Pryby's education career started in 1997 after he retired as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army. Attending Georgia College, he obtained a Master's Degree in Teaching in Broad Field Science. In 2004 Dr. Pryby completed a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University, and in 2006 he earned a Doctorate of Education from Argosy University in Atlanta.

Mr. Will Ray

A native of Perry, Will has worked for Houston County Schools for over ten years. After graduating from Perry High School in 1991, he attended The University of Georgia where he received a BSEd in English Education and a MED in Educational Leadership. He would later earn his EdS from Columbus State University.
Will began teaching English at Northside High School from 1997-2000 and became the English Department Chairman at Houston County High School in 2001. Beginning in 2005, Mr. Ray joined the HCHS Administrative team as an Assistant Principal.
Will lives in Perry with his wife Heather their two children, Jeffrey and River.
