Cosmetology

The Cosmetology program is a joint program with Middle Georgia Technical Institute. The courses prepare students for careers in the field of cosmetology with full lab experiences in safety, sanitation, hair treatments, sales, and management.

This program offers dual credit with MGTI when all course requirements are met.

Cosmetology I 9464 (Dual Credit) 2 Hours
This course introduces students to Cosmetology Theory, Skin, Scalp and Hair, Shampooing and Styling, and Basic hair cutting.
Credits earned may be transferred to the Cosmetology diplomas program.
There is a one-time $11.50 charge for malpractice insurance.

Cosmetology II 9467 (Dual Credit) 2 Hours

This level II course continues to develop and enhance the skills acquired in Level I and includes the topics of Intro to Permanent Waving and Relaxing, Hair Color, and Manicuring and Pedicure.
Credits earned may be transfer to the Cosmetology diploma program.

Cosmetology III 9470 (Dual Credit) 2 Hours

This level III course continues to develop and enhance the competencies acquired in the Level I and Level II and includes the topics of Haircutting Techniques, Permanent Waving and Relaxing, Skin, Scalp, and Hair Care, and Salon/Shop Management.
Credits earned may transfer to the Cosmetology diploma program.
