  Principal
Mrs. Sabrina C. Phelps

 Mrs. Phelps received her bachelor’s degree from Fort Valley State University with a major in Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS). She earned her master’s degree in FACS from The Ohio State University; a specialist degree in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Science from Georgia State College and University; and a specialist in Educational Leadership and Administration from Columbus State University.

She is married to Stevie Phelps. They have two sons, Bryant and Terrence. Mrs. Phelps began her teaching career at Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, GA. She taught 6th grade Science and Family and Consumer Sciences at Perry Middle School for four years. She then transferred to Tabor/ Thomson Middle School and taught FACS for seven years. During her tenure at TMS she was chosen Teacher of Year.

At Warner Robins High School Mrs. Phelps served as Assistant Principal and Supervisor to the Career and Technical Education department. Under her supervision the CTAE department moved from the old adage of teaching a vocation, to preparing students for a career.

Mrs. Phelps is humbled and excited about being named principal of the Houston County Career Academy. The goal of the career academy is to provide students with job skills for employment prior to leaving high school.

The Houston County Career Academy is completely unique in that it focuses on defining and meeting the education and workforce development needs of the Career Technical and Agriculture Education programs at the existing high schools in Houston County.

Dr. Kim Burger

Kim received her B.S. in Secondary Education in Social Studies from the University of Nebraska in 1986. She taught middle school social studies for 11 years in Omaha, Nebraska. Professional learning and aspirations to become a counselor led her to continue her education; therefore, she received her Master of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma in 1993.

In 1995, Kim and her U.S.A.F. husband, David were transferred to Warner Robins with their two children, Ashley and Lauren.

In 1996, Kim taught Georgia History at Feagin Mill Middle School (FMMS) and from 1997-2003 she served FMMS as their counselor. Realizing the importance of continued education again led Kim in search of an advanced degree in administration. In 2002, she acquired her Specialist in Education from the University of Columbus. Her latest educational pursuit began in 2007 with the Ed.D program in administrative leadership through Walden University. She received her Ed.D. in Educational leadership October 2010. She has been in education for 24 years.
