Ms. Bowden is in her first year as an Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor with Houston County High School. She graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.S. in Agricultural Education and is completing her Masters though the University of West Florida in Educational Leadership and Administration. She teaches Landscape Design, Horticulture, Forestry, and Agriscience.

Mrs. Blasingame is a business education teacher at HCHS. She is a 1988 graduate of Perry High School and Homecoming queen. Mrs. Blasingame has taught in the Houston County school system for 4 years, but has been teaching for 10 years. She holds a B.A. degree in business education from Georgia Southern University and plans to get her Masters in Administration. She is married to Minister Alrenzo Blasingame and she has a beautiful 7 year old daughter.
Grubbs Chief Master Sergeant Kaylon D. Grubbs

Chief Master Sergeant Kaylon D. Grubbs teaches aerospace science and leadership education curricula for Houston County High School, Ga-932. Chief Grubbs was born in Osceola, Arkansas, on 23 December 1960. In May 1979, he graduated from Pontotoc Senior High School in Pontotoc, Mississippi. He entered the Air Force on 23 August 1979. After 27 years of service he retired from active duty and assumed his current position.
Chief Grubbs serves as a liaison between the Air Force and civilian agencies in the aerospace field and performs career and performance counseling for AFJROTC cadets. He helps plan and support activities like military balls, cadet competitions, cadet newspaper production, military ceremonies, and charitable activities. His hard work and devotion has enabled in the Houston County High Chapter AFJROTC program to continue its highly acclaimed performance on local and national levels.
Chief Grubbs has three Associates in Applied Science Degrees from the Community College of the Air Force in Fuels Supply Technology, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Personnel Management. He is married to the former Amy Mauney of Blairsville, Georgia, also a retired AF veteran. They have two sons, Jake and Jared, ages 21 & 19, respectively.

Tina Collins is a University of Georgia graduate where she obtained Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Business Education. Mrs. Collins was a homemaker for nineteen years staying home to care for her four children, Brad, Amy, Ben, and April. She taught adults in Perry in a Family Literacy program for four years before coming to the Business Department at Houston County High School in 2006. Mrs. Collins is married to HCHS Athletic Director, George Collins. GO BEARS!

Mrs. Clay is a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher here at HCHS. She is the sponsor of FCCLA (Family, Career, Community Leaders of America). A Houston County native, Mrs. Clay has taught in Houston County Schools for the last 26 years. She holds both a B.S. and a Master's degree in Home Economics Education degree from Georgia College & State University. She is included in the 2007-2008 Who's Who Among America's Teachers and was presented the Spirit of Advising Award by the National FCCLA.

Coach George Collins is one of our Business Education teachers in the Career/Technology Department. He is a graduate of Warner Robins High School and received his undergraduate and master degrees from University of Georgia. He has been teaching in the Houston County school system for 10 years, he and his wife Tina are the proud parents of four children. Coach Collins is also on the Coaching Staff at Houston County High School. He coaches Varsity Football.

Mrs. Cooper teaches the Early Childhood Education Program, a Family and Consumer Sciences course at HCHS, where we have a part time on-site preschool program called Little Bears Preschool. In addition, Mrs. Cooper is an adviser to HCHS’s outstanding FCCLA chapter that has received many awards such as State Chapter of the Year and first place in the Georgia National Fair FCCLA exhibit competition. A graduate of Central High School in Carrollton, she holds B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in Home Economics Education from Georgia College and State University. Married to her high school sweetheart, she has two children and two grandchildren.
Jessup Ms. Gina Jessup

Ms. Jessup is in her first year as a Business instructor and FBLA advisor at Houston County High. She taught 18 years at Ware County High School and Waycross High School in Waycross, GA. She has an Ed.S. in Secondary Education and M.S. and B.S. degrees in Business Education from Valdosta State College. She is also a graduate of Hawkinsville High School and Middle Georgia College. She has two children—Regina, 18, and Jake, 16.

Altos Godfrey is responsible for the school’s graphic communications program. Mr. Godfrey is a proud graduate of Georgia Southern University. His background includes production manager for a newspaper chain; working in Capricorn Records public relations department and was instrumental in creating all the secondary graphics programs currently found in the school system. HCHS’s graphics program encompasses a variety of career paths found in the field of communications. Courses include: photography (film & digital), commercial layout, design & advertising. A section on offset lithography printing techniques is also offered. Recently his students produced a video documenting the school’s use of educational technologies. The Intel Corporation was so impressed with their production they currently use it world-wide and recently had it translated into Chinese.
Karma Hayes Ms. Karma Hayes

Mrs. Karma G. Hayes teaches in the Business Education Department, coordinates the Cooperative Business Education program and sponsors the Future Business Leaders of America Career Technical student organization. She is a graduate of Perry High School and received her B.S. degree from Georgia Southern University and her M. Ed. in Instructional Technology/Technology Coordinator from Georgia College and State University. She is currently pursuing her Ed. D. in Administrative Leadership at Columbus State University. Mrs. Hayes has been teaching in the Houston County school system for 13 years and has been included in several editions of Who's Who Among America's Teachers.

Mr. Gary Howard is in his 17th year at Houston County High School. He is one of the founding teachers and was the very first teacher of the year at HCHS. He has taught Industrial Technology (Woodworking) for 22 years in Houston County . Gary received a bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky University. He and his wife Tammy have two children, Grant and Cole.

Senior Master Sergeant Edwin Vazquez is one of our Air Force JROTC instructors in the Houston County School. He grew up in Willimantic, Connecticut and entered the Air Force in Dec 1983. In 1993 he received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University near Tampa, Florida. He is currently working towards a Masters of Arts in Teaching with Georgia College and State University. In Dec 2005 he retired after 22 years in the service. Sgt Vazquez is married to Alana Vazquez of Long Island, N.Y. Alana is a teacher at Lake Joy Primary. Sgt Vazquez and Alana have three children, Edwin, Adrian and Alena.

Mr. Chris McCook is one of our Business Education teachers in the Career/Technology Department. He is a graduate of Jeff Davis High School and received his undergraduate degree from Georgia Southern. Chris also received his Masters in Ed. Leadership from Columbus State University and is currently working on his sixth year in Ed. Leadership. Chris has been teaching in the Houston County school system for 10 years, he is married to Megan McCook of Warner Robins, GA. Megan is a teacher at Lake Joy Elementary and they are the proud parents of Ansley and Jackson McCook. Chris is also on the coaching staff at Houston County, where he coaches both football and soccer.

Lt Col Jackson (retired) is our Senior Aerospace Science Instructor at HCHS. This is her 2nd year teaching Air Force JROTC. She served 20 plus years in the United Stated Air Force, and retired in 2005. Lt Col Jackson is a graduate of Enterprise High School, Enterprise AL, and received her B.S. in Computer Information Science and an M.S. in Personnel Management from Troy State University. She is married and has two children.

Tom Seward is a 1999 graduate of Houston County High School and 2004 Graduate of the University of Georgia. While at Georgia he received his degree in Technology Education. He spent his first three years teaching at Loganville High School where he was the Advisor for the school’s first TSA chapter. He also coached the football and wrestling teams. At Houston County High, Tom is the Advisor for the school’s TSA chapter as well as a coach on the football and track teams.
Owens Ms. Tiffany Flournoy

Tiffany Flournoy has been the Marketing Teacher and Work Based Learning Coordinator at Houston County High School since 2004. She is also the DECA and National Technical Honor Society advisor. A native of Vienna, GA, Mrs. Flournoy graduated from Fullington Academy High School in 1999 and then went on to graduate with honors from the University of Georgia in 2003 with a degree in Marketing Education. She obtained her Master’s degree in Administration and Leadership from Georgia College and State University in 2007. She currently serves on the Georgia Marketing Education Association Board as Vice President of Public Relations.
