It’s going to be a great year at Houston County High School! We are excited about working with you and supporting our students throughout their respective high school journeys. Houston County High School has a strong tradition of excellence in academic and extracurricular achievement perpetuated by a dedicated faculty and staff as well as a supportive parent community. We are committed to building upon the strong foundation already established to ensure that our students succeed beyond their dreams. It is our goal to increase each student’s capacity to learn and succeed exponentially. Together, we will reach far beyond the expected.

| Mr. Brian Christensen |

Dr. Brian Christensen is one of our Assistant Principals. Dr. Christensen graduated from Bear River High School, located north of Salt Lake City, Utah in 1979 and was awarded a full athletic scholarship to Utah State University. He was a four year letterman at Right Offensive Tackle. In 1983, he signed a Free Agent National Football League contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Dr. Christensen began his career as an educator at Windsor Academy School in Bibb County where he was a Social Studies teacher and coached the Varsity Football Team and Track Teams. Dr. Christensen came to the Houston County School system and joined the faculty at Warner Robins Middle School where he served as a Science and History teacher. While at Warner Robins Middle School, he also enjoyed coaching championship teams in Football, Soccer, and Track. Dr. Christensen came to Houston County High School in 1997 and has served as CTE Supervisor, Assistant Principal, Ninth Grade Academy Principal, and Summer School Principal. Dr. Christensen aided the implementation of the Ninth Grade Academy at Houston County High School which is a successful and nationally recognized program that helps ninth grade students make the transition from middle school.
Dr. Christensen received Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Georgia College and a Specialist Degree from The University of Georgia majoring in Education Leadership. He received a Doctorate Degree from the University of Sarasota in 2004. He and wife Patsy have two children, Cameron and Caitlen. |

| Mr. Will Ray |

A native of Perry, Will has worked for Houston County Schools for over ten years. After graduating from Perry High School in 1991, he attended The University of Georgia where he received a BSEd in English Education and a MED in Educational Leadership. He would later earn his EdS from Columbus State University.
Will began teaching English at Northside High School from 1997-2000 and became the English Department Chairman at Houston County High School in 2001. Beginning in 2005, Mr. Ray joined the HCHS Administrative team as an Assistant Principal.
Will lives in Perry with his wife Heather their two children, Jeffrey and River.

| Mrs. Andrea Jordan |

Andrea A. Jordan has been assistant principal at Houston County High School since Spring Semester, 2004. She graduated from Wrightsville High School and received an Associates Degree from Middle Georgia College. She received Bachelors, Masters and Educational Specialist Degrees from the University of Georgia where she majored in Health, Physical Education, and Educational Leadership.
Ms. Jordan taught at Franklin County High school for one year. She was at Northside Middle School for 33 years where she served as Principal, Ninth Grade Principal, Assistant Principal, and Teacher. She was the Health and Physical Education Department Chairperson and was named Teacher of the Year during her tenure there. Northside Middle had many outstanding accomplishments while Ms. Jordan was principal. Among them were accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, being named a Georgia School of Excellence, winning three county All Sports Championships, being named a High Achieving School by the Georgia Department of Education, having the Academic Team win the State PAGE Bowl Competition, and having teams excel at world competition in Odyssey of the Mind.
Ms. Jordan brought several innovative programs to Northside Middle including the Macon State College Early Intervention Program, Project YES (You + Education = Success), a citizenship program that reduced discipline referrals, the SRA reading program, the Georgia Reading Challenge Grant, and a grant from the Houston Drug Action Council.
Ms. Jordan is married to Dr. Douglas L. Jordan. He is a professor at Macon State College. |

| Mr. Todd Pryby |
|
E-Mail Dr. Todd Pryby has been an assistant principal and CTAE supervisor for Houston County High School since July 2004. Previously he taught physical and life science courses while part of the science department at Houston County High School. Dr. Pryby’s education career started in 1997 after he retired as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army. Attending Georgia College, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Teaching in Broad Field Science. In 2004 Dr. Pryby completed a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University, and in 2006 he earned a Doctorate of Education from Argosy University in Atlanta. |

| Ms. Amy Barbour |

E-Mail Mrs. Barbour received her bachelor’s degree in English with secondary education certification from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and began teaching ninth grade at South Johnston High School in North Carolina. She then taught drama, journalism, honors and college prep ninth and tenth grade English at Ben Eielson High School in Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska for two years. On returning to North Carolina, Mrs. Barbour received her gifted certification and continued her teaching career for four years before relocating to Houston County. Mrs. Barbour also holds a master’s degree in School Administration and Leadership. She and her husband Stephen have two children, Hannah and Landon. |
