Mission and Beliefs Statements

MISSION

The mission of Houston County Career and Technology Center is to serve as a career and technical facility that seeks to enhance and complement the traditional high school program. Our goal is to provide students the opportunity of an educational choice for growth and development of lifelong learning and career skills.

VISION

Houston County Career and Technology Center graduates will successfully pursue post-secondary education, training, or meaningful employment, participate and contribute to the social, economic, and political life of their community and society as a whole.

BELIEFS

Houston County Career and Technology Center is committed to creating an environment that nurtures students in a seamless transition from high school to a technical post-secondary environment:

• Each student deserves an education, which addresses his individual abilities and interests.
• An education provides the knowledge, technical skills, and work ethics necessary to form a foundation upon which to build a successful life.
• Students learn to communicate effectively as well as master valuable academic, technical, and social skills in a safe, educational environment.
• Students meet and/or exceed expectations when competent caring professionals model them.
• Ownership or a sense of control of one’s environment promotes success.
• Collaboration with parents, businesses, and the community is essential to student success.
