Mrs. Shawn Carpenter is a 28 year veteran of the Houston County School System.  The Houston county native is an alumnus of the system.  She earned an Associate's Degree from Gordon Jr. College, and a bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Educations and a Master's Degree in reading from Georgia Southwestern College.  She also earned a Specialist Degree in Education, Administration/Supervision from the University of Georgia.  Mrs Carpenter has taught third grade through eighth grade and reading in grades one through eight.  She was the Assistant Principal of Instruction at both Feagin Mill Middle School and Mossy Creek Middle School before coming to be the Principal here at David A Perdue Elementary School.

Rhonda Moulder is the Assistant Principal at David A. Perdue Elementary. She has been in the field of education for 25 years. A native of Colquitt, Georgia, she graduated from Miller County High School in 1976. She received a music scholarship to Wesleyan College, and graduated in 1980 with a degree in music education. After teaching public school music at Winship Elementary for 7 years in Macon, Georgia, she then began teaching kindergarten at Winship Elementary, after receiving her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University. After teaching kindergarten for 2 years, Mrs. Moulder then became a Data Collector for the Regional Assessment Center in Macon, Georgia. During that time, she traveled to 7 counties, training teachers with the Georgia Teacher Observation Instrument, worked with teachers in the classrooms, provided workshops in classroom management and instruction, and completed teacher observations utilizing the Teacher Performance Assessment Instrument. Mrs. Moulder graduated from Mercer University with a Education Specialist Degree in Early Childhood Education in 1991. She then attended the University of Georgia for an add-on in Education Administration. She became an Instructional Coordinator for Lindsey Elementary, and was the Coordinator for 9 years. She then became the Instructional Coordinator for David A. Perdue Elementary School in 1991, and became the Assistant Principal for Instruction in 2002. She has finished her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. Mrs. Moulder is married to Guy Moulder. They have two children: Macy and Nicholas. She enjoys singing, playing the piano, judging beauty pageants, and pageant coaching.

Mrs. Shannon Shultz



Mrs. Shannon Schultz is a native of nearby Dublin, Georgia.  She attended Georgia Southern University where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. She received a Master’s and Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership from GC&SU.   In 2007, she received a Reading Recovery certification from Georgia State University. Mrs. Schultz has taught for ten years with experience teaching 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade.    She also had the opportunity to be a Reading Recovery and EIP teacher working with Kindergarten and 1st grade. Shannon was also a literacy coach working school-wide to help implement school-wide literacy initiatives.  She has taught in Douglas County, Laurens County, and Matt Arthur Elementary before coming to Perdue Elementary.  She is proud to call DPES her new home! Shannon is married to her husband, Tim Schultz.  Together, they have two boys, Evan and Chase.

Mrs. Lois Helms

Mrs. Helms is excited to join the faculty and staff and serve as counselor for Perdue Elementary this year.  She has been an educator for 24 years, working in Cairo, Thomasville and Perry.  She has served as an elementary teacher, elementary and middle school guidance counselor, and, most recently, as Perry Middle School’s graduation coach.  She received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University, and graduate degrees from Valdosta State and Nova Southeastern University.  She is married to the recently retired Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Tim Helms.  They have two adult children, Timothy (married to Julie Anna Close Helms), and Kelli.  She enjoys spending time with her family, reading and trying to stay in shape.
