Cindy Flesher graduated from Georgia College with a Bachelor’s Degree, Georgia Southern with a Master’s Degree, and Georgia College with a Specialist Degree, all in the area of Early Childhood Education. Later, she completed a Leadership Add-on to the Specialist Degree. Cindy began her teaching career in Effingham County, then she taught at Southside Elementary in Milledgeville for 3 years. For the past 9 years, Cindy has been in Houston County where she has taught Kindergarten at Morningside Elementary, First Grade at Centerville Elementary, and has been the Instructional Coordinator at Centerville for the past 5 years. While teaching at Morningside Elementary, she was recognized as Teacher of the Year for the school and as a finalist at the county level. Cindy and her husband, Jay, have one child, Macie.

Hello! My name is Arthur Billings and I am very excited about being your Assistant Principal at Centerville Elementary.

I am coming to Centerville Elementary as a product of the Houston County School System. I attended Tucker Elementary, Perry Middle School, and graduated from Perry High School. I later graduated from FVSU with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle Grades Education, a Master's Degree in Middle Grades Education from Cambridge College, and a Specialist Degree in Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

I began my teaching career at Westside Elementary teaching fourth graders and later moved to teaching sixth graders at Bert Rumble Middle School. While teaching at Westside Elementary from 1999-2000 I was recognized as "Teacher of the Year."

I have one daughter,Chelsea (4), and a devoted wife, Catina. In my spare time I enjoy reading, working out, and spending time with my family.

Tonya Maddox is proud to be a product of the Houston County School System. She attended Shirley Hills Elementary, Miller Elementary, Warner Robins Junior High, and Warner Robins High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Mercer University and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Columbus State University. She has been the Assistant Principal for Instruction at Centerville since July 2004. Prior to that she has only worked at Centerville Elementary and wouldn’t have it any other way! She previously taught first grade for five years and then she was the Early Intervention Program teacher for three years. Tonya loves helping students and teachers be the very best they can be. She hopes to continue the tradition of instructional excellence at Centerville Elementary School.


Tonya is married to Denny Maddox, a teacher and coach at Houston County High School. They have two children. Jake is a happy four year old that attends Centerville Elementary and can’t wait to play football for his daddy one day. Maggie is a sweet two year old who loves her big brother and can’t wait to come to school with him!
