Tonya Maddox is proud to be a product of the Houston County School System. She attended Shirley Hills Elementary, Miller Elementary, Warner Robins Junior High, and Warner Robins High School. She received her bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Mercer University, and her master's degree and specialist degree in educational leadership from Columbus State University. This is her second year as Principal at Centerville Elementary School. Prior to that she has only worked at Centerville Elementary and wouldn't have it any other way! She previously was the Assistant Principal for Instruction for six years, taught first grade for five years and then she was the Early Intervention Program teacher for three years. Tonya loves helping students and teachers be the very best they can be. She hopes to continue the tradition of excellence at Centerville Elementary School.
Tonya is married to Denny Maddox, a teacher at Houston County High School. They have two children. Jake is in sixth grade and Maggie is in third grade at Centerville Elementary. |

email I am a productive individual by way of the Houston County School System. I attended Tucker Elementary, Perry Middle and graduated from Perry High School. Later, I attended Fort Valley State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Grades Education. My other achievements include a Master’s Degree in Middle Grades Education from Cambridge College and a Specialist’s Degree in Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. My teaching career started with Westside Elementary where I taught fourth grade and was recognized as 1999-2000 “Teacher of the Year”. From here I moved on to teach sixth grade at Bert Rumble Middle School. My loving wife, Catina and I have a beautiful daughter named Chelsea who attends 2nd grade at Quail Run. I enjoy using my extra time to read, work out, and spend time with my family. |

Ruthann Bowden grew up in Powder Spings, Georgia where she graduated from John McEachern High School. She moved to middle Georgia after she married and started her family. When her older children began middle school, she went back to school and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from FVSU. She began teaching 1st grade at Miller Elementary and then transferred to Russell Elementary where she taught 5th grade and kindergarten. She received her master's degree from Walden University and her specialist degree in educational leadership from Columbus State University. Ruthann is married to David Bowden, who is a contractor, and together they have five children: Ashley (28), Tyler and Blake (27), Ben (25) and Breann (13) who is an 8th grader at Huntington Middle School. Their first grandchild, Brogan was born this past May. Ruthann feels truly blessed and honored to be a part of the Centerville family. |
