New SNA Video Scheduled to Appear on National Television!
SNA has produced a new video to spread the word about healthy school meals. The 30 second video, featuring school foodservice professionals and the delicious, nutritious food they serve, is scheduled to air on national television during an upcoming episode of the Food Network's hit show "Chopped." SNA will also distribute the video to over 1,000 TV stations across the country and promote the spot online.

HOUSTON CO. SCHOOL NUTRITION AWARDED GRANT:
The US Department of Agriculture's Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Program awarded Houston Co. School Nutrition a grant to help educate students.

Free and Reduced Meal Application: The Nutrition Program partnered with Nutri-Link to provide an Internet version of the free and reduced meal application. Parents can begin entering their information online July 1st, to see if they qualify for free or reduced meals.

HCBOE Approves Price Increase: The price increase is due to the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act. In order for Houston County to be in compliance lunch prices were increased .25 cents for the SY 2012-2013 school year. All other meal prices remained the same.

In an effort to become more efficient and to streamline our payroll operations, the Board of Education will no longer be issuing paper payroll checks or pay-stubs after the May 30thpayroll. Starting with the June 29thpayroll, all pay will be handled by direct deposit to your bank accounts or to a payroll bank card, at the employee’s discretion.
