Supplemental Educational Services for eligible students at Northside High School only
The Houston County Board of Education accepts requests for Supplemental Educational Services (SES) for the fall and spring semesters of each qualifying school year. SES is a tutoring program for eligible students attending schools in Needs Improvement Status.
A provider's fair is held during the enrollment window for the fall and spring semesters. The provider's fair will give families an opportunity to speak with various providers and gain more information about the tutoring program that best fits the needs of your child.

Supplemental Educational Services FAQs
Under provision of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) schools that have been identified as "Needs Improvement" schools for two or more years may be required to offer parents the opportunity to transfer their child to another school. Schools that have been identified as "Needs Improvement" schools must make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for two years in a row to move out of that status. During that time, schools may be requred to offer choice and other options, as required by law.
The schools offering the ESEA choice option for the 2011-2012 school year are Northside High School.
Northside High School
NHS is a Title I school. NHS is currently at Needs Improvement Status and offers School Choice and SES.
The schools designated as accepting choice students for the 2011-2012 school year are Houston County High School and Warner Robins High School.

Student information packets regarding school choice are mailed in the spring of the preceding school year. Any new enrollees to Northside High may elect school choice at the time of enrollment.
