School Councils
The A+ Education Reform Act (HB1187) established school councils in Georgia to bring communities and schools closer together in a spirit of cooperation to solve difficult education problems, improve academic achievement, provide support for teachers and administrators, and bring parents into the school-based decision-making process.
The management and control of public schools is the responsibility of local boards of education as stated in HB1187, with the principal serving as school leader. School councils serve to provide advice, recommendations, and assistance representing the community of parents and businesses.

Mossy Creek Middle School Council Meetings for 2009-10
Mossy Creek Middle School has scheduled its School Council meetings for the 2009-2010 school year. The meetings will be held bi-monthly on the second Tuesday of the month. An election will also be held on January 14, 2010, immediately following the meeting.
